Europe 09

After coming home this last time, I realized why I love going to Europe so much, it's not the flying or the just saying I've been to Europe "x" number of times.  Its the feel of their cities. The small town feel with the big city feel at the same time.  The ability to walk everywhere, not own a car, and take public transportation is a great feeling when we are so upset about American drivers and traffic.  Public transportation is so different over there too; it's convenient and goes everywhere you need it to go and there isn't the taboo there of public transportation like there is here.

We didn't get to go to the Alps like we wanted but we did get to see a lot of the area around Weil and Basel and even walked from Huningen to St. Louis in France. I saw the point where the Germany, Switzerland and France all meet. And walked across the Rhein into France. We got to see some of the most amazing cathedrals while we were in France and one in Basel. We didn't get a chance to go to some of the others we wanted to see. Thats ok, that'll be the next trip :)

One of the best days there was the day I got to go the Rhein International Academy.  They have such an amazing staff and group of kids.  I would love to be able to work in an environment like that one day where they are all so close and they were able to be open and really learn about the kids and their families.  These are some really great people that have moved their whole life to be able to praise God and teach these wonderful kids whom some are not accepted into other schools in Europe. I can see why Amy-Jo loves it so much over there.
